Enter the elephant
Well, Wifey has been after me to attempt making an elephant for some time now. She loves elephants. I put it off for a while because most of the designs I've seen were either too plain or to ambitious. I had wanter to start it last fall, but due to the back injury I had, sitting for hours was out of the question.
I finally started it a couple weeks ago, and finished it last night. I was a bit apprehensive about because of the texturing that I would need to do since elephants are, y'know, wrinkled!
Anyway, here it is! It's about 16" x 16" for my first time doing this type of texturing, I'm pretty pleased with the results. and best of all, Wifey finally has her elephant :)

Coolest Cat Ever
I’ve decided I have the coolest cat ever. Like most everyone, we have the occasional mouse in the house. This winter, there seems to be a few more than usual. Anyway, normally when there is a mouse around, the cat hangs out in the corner of the kitchen staring at the stove, waiting for the mouse to get brave enough to show itself.
Squidy the cat is a good mouser. He always gets his mouse, but this particular mouse is a tough one. Squidy the cat had been spending every night for like three days hiding in the corner of the living room waiting for the mouse to slip up.
Last night was a busy evening, so for dinner, we just had sandwiches in front of the TV, pretty late. Me, being lazy, left the sandwich making materials on the kitchen counter so I could get back to the show I was watching.
Then, in Tom and Jerry like fashion, it happened. Walking out from the kitchen was Squidy the cat, carrying a slice of provolone cheese in his mouth. He walks over to the middle of the living room and drops the slice of cheese on floor. He looks around the room surveillance style and then goes over to the corner, lying down between the wall and a chair staring at the cheese.
He baited the mouse with cheese! He stayed there for a good hour until it was time for us to go to bed. I almost wanted to leave the cheese there on the floor over night, but it was, y’know, food on the floor so I didn’t.
We may have give him Tom for a middle name. I used to love that cartoon
